Based in Los Angeles, Sandy Marshall is a producer, writer, and science communicator with extensive expertise in digital media, business development, improvisation, and entertainment.
At NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), Sandy serves as Public Engagement Lead for the Deep Space Network and key missions to explore our solar system and protect our planet.
Prior to JPL, Sandy served as Vice President at Second City Works, co-created REACH: A Space Podcast for Kids, and penned the syndicated business column Workish. As a strategy and storytelling consultant, he’s helped dozens of Fortune 500 companies engage audiences and navigate change. Past clients include Morgan Stanley, General Electric, AbbVie, RBC, PwC, and Verizon.
Film/TV acting credits include Ron Howard’s The Dilemma, Odd Squad (PBS), and Still Hungry (Comedy Central). Sandy served as a Director & Faculty Member at the world famous The Second City, wrote for Cards Against Humanity, and co-founded the comedy ensemble Schadenfreude.
Media and speaking appearances include Fast Company, CBC News, NXNE, the Banff World Media Festival, ASTC, and numerous NASA and Apollo lectures and celebrations.
Sandy is an Emmy nominee, two-time recipient of JPL’s Voyager Award, and contributor to a Webby-winning NASA project. He holds a B.A. in History from Drake University, where he’s a proud alum of the Board of Trustees.
